Float Process For The Production Of Plate Glass

The float process is described briefly with particular reference to the rate at which the molten glass is flattened. Methods of achieving equal thickness of the ribbon and possibilities of varying the ribbon thickness are discussed. The effects of small amounts of oxygen and sulphur in the atmosphere are also considered.
