Float Glass Plant To Be Built In Poland

Saint-Gobain and Pilkington are setting up a joint venture to build a float lgass plant in Wykroty, in the southwest of Poland. The jointly owned facility will have a capacity of 260,000 tons/year to accomodate the needs of both companies. It will supply glass for the building products sector. The venture awaits final approval from the authorities. The cost of the new plant is expected to be Euros 120m. Production is due to start in 2003 and it will initially employ 130 people.
