Flagship Solar Facility Inaugurated

Schott Solar has inaugurated its manufacturing facility for products used to generate solar power a year after breaking ground on the project's first phase. The 200,000 square-foot facility at Albuquerque, NM, USA, represents an initial investment of over US$100M and has created 350 jobs. Anticipating the need to increase production at its solar power technologies as the market for renewable energy in the USA grows, the new site is designed to support expansion of both Schott's photovoltaic module and solar thermal receiver lines. Long-term plans for expansion represent a total investment of around US$ 500M.
