Fives Stein - Conversion Of 600M/Tpd Float Furnace To Natural Gas

Fives Stein was the company commissioned to construct the 600M/tpd float glass line of Fuyao Group Shuangliao Co Ltd., one of the high-end glassmakers and glass processors for the automotive industry in China. Production began in September 2005 with fuel-oil and has reached high quality standards. In November 2009, Fives Stein successfully converted the same furnace to natural gas. The switch-over took place without detrimental impact on production, thanks to the combined work of Fuyao and Fives Stein teams. The operation of the 600m/tpd furnace with natural gas will result in substantial reductions in the plant's SOx emissions.
