First Quarter Good For Pilkington

At Pilkington's AGM Chairman, Sir Nigel Rudd, said that the company's first quarter was the best first quarter for several years. He continued: "In building products, float glass prices have been firm, ahead of the first quarter of last year. Demand in Europe overall has been steady with some variation between countries, and sales and profits are running ahead of last year. In North America, demand has been weak and our sales and profits have been flat."
