First Commercial Use Of Glass Wine Closure

Whitehall Lane Winery of Napa Valley, California (USA) has become the first winery in the world to seal its bottles with the Vino-Seal glass closure. Alcoa developed the closure, which is secured by a traditional tin capsule, as an alternative to traditional corks and synthetic stoppers for wine bottles. "Vino-Seal eliminates the problems associated with natural cork," said Whitehall Lane owner, Thomas Leonardini.
