A Memorandum of Understanding has been signed by the Saudi Arabian trading and industrial group Saleh & Abdulaziz Abahsain Co Ltd and the Fiberex Corporation of Canada to set up an $80M plant in Saudi Arabia to make glass fibre. The plant would produce specialist FDR glass fibres, a composition that provides better mechanical, electrical and corrosion-resistant properties. Such fibres are often used in the manufacture of boats, car bodies, aircraft parts, wind turbine blades, fibre optic cables and other items.
