Fibre Optic Road Signs

Most drivers need to be reminded to slow down from time to time. And there is nothing more persuasive than vehicle activated signs. Only drivers exceeding the speed limit activate the message to slow down, so you know it means you! Many of these signs are now being made using LED technology, but Coeval in Scotland use Schott fibre optic lighting to allow them to produce large signs which cannot be made using LEDs. "Fibre optics offer incredible reliability", says Coeval's Peter Leslie. "Once you put the sign in place it requires little or no maintenance. The typical type of warning sign we produce using the technology is for low rail bridges. An over-high vehicle would be detected approaching the bridge and the warning activated before the vehicle goes too far." For more information please email: Nicola.Leatham@schott.com (whole item)
