[Factory Spotlight] Wadi Glass Containers

Wadi Glass Containers is an Egyptian company that has been in existence for two years, being formed to supply one of its sister companies. The firm was established after studies showed that bottles and jars manufactured locally were not meeting quality standards. So in 2005, Wadi Holdings partnered with Samih Sawiris, Hwa Hsia Glass Co of Taiwan and Jochenlee Molds & Machines of singapore to establish Wadi Glass Containers in Egypt. The plant has four lines, one for single gob products and three lines for double gob products such as jars and bottles. Wadi makes speciality and standard glass bottles and jars. In addition to its current 90/tpd furnace Wadi management has decided to start up a new 240/tpd furnace with four production lines, designed by Horn.
