Extended Sidewall Inspection

To solve problems associated with the sidewall inspection of non-round containers, where the orientation of the glass is not vertical to the line of sight of the camera, Optische Prufysteme Dr Gunther uses additional cameras, which can be set to the shoulder, neck & finish areas. According to the company, defects like stones, inclusions & scratches can now be better detected & it is easier to find defects in the thread. Another advantage is the improved angle of view at the finish. By looking only at part of the container, a higher resolution is also available. This means that defects in the finish such as dips, notches & cracks can also be detected. In total, the machine uses 18 cameras, positioned around the container to provide complete inspection. 6 cameras are used for shine through inspection, 6 for stress inspection & 6 for shoulder, neck & finish
