Expansion For Quinn

N. Irish container manufacturer Quinn Glass announced recently that it is investing over £40M to improve its production process. Quinn is spending the sum to upgrade its 2 furnaces at its Derrylin site, Co. Fermanagh. It said the upgrade would increase its operating efficiency &, together with the installation of state-of-the-art inspection equipment, reduce wastage. The investment will create an extra 20 jobs at the plant which already employs 378. Quinn Glass makes bottles at sites in Derrylin & Cheshire & is the second largest glass container manufacturer in the UK. It said the investment would significantly increase annual capacity & the level of exports. Adrian Curry, director of the company, said: "This investment will consolidate our position in the industry & allow us to consider further expanding our operation here".
