Eu Winegrowers Express Concerns Over Glass Price Rises

The European Confederation of Independent Winegrowers (CEVI) has expressed its concern at rises in the price of glass bottles (10.6% in France, 14.7% in Luxembourg and 14.5% in Slovenia). Details of these increases were sent "for information" to the Directorate General Competition at the European Commission. Prices are set by the two main container glass manufacturers, France's Saint-Gobain group and O-I (Owens-Illinois) of the USA. CEVI surveyed its members in Portugal, Spain, France, Slovenia, Luxembourg and Switzerland.
