Eu Grants Trade Concessions

The European Commission has proposed the granting of trade concessions to the Republic of Albania on glass products exported to Member States. Under the new agreement, Albanian glass exports will not be subject to customs duties until 31 December 2001. Some examples of the glass products listed are: carboys; bottles; flasks; jars; pots; phials; ampoules and preserving jars; stoppers, lids and other glass closures. All items have a quota of 1650 tonnes that may be exported duty free. Albania was given preferential treatment by the EU as a Most Favoured Nation as part of its efforts to boost economies in war-torn south eastern European countries. (whole item)
