The Essence Of Quality Control

Inspection machines in the cold end can secure the quality of glass production. The focus of such machines is to inspect defects, which can appear and disappear from one second to another. Many of the used inspection modules are also an attributive inspection only, so that these inspection results are not significant enough for evaluating the quality trend. Some quality data, such as weight or fill level, are not measurable on these inline-inspection machines. The missing data are typically collected in the laboratory or offline-inspection by periodical test series. The Heye QCLab is designed to evaluate quality status and to appraise the future trend. The result of improvements is recorded and a reduction of production costs is the result. The QCLab is adapted to the requirements of container glass production. Data is linked to the production line as well as to the mould number. QCLab records all measured values and calculates charges such as the Gaussian curve, box plot, scatter plot or quality control charts for evaluation.
