In the 1950s, Coors Porcelain, as CoorsTec was then known, collaborated with the development of the all-aluminium beer can for its parent firm, Coors Brewing Co. Today, as a supplier to high-technoloy companies and as a research partner, CoorsTec has invested heavily in ways to use ceramics to protect the environment. Its customers use CoorsTec ceramic components in devices designed to lower fossil-fuel dependence, improve fuel efficiency and prevent hazardous spills. What began as a porcelain company is now a global enterprise with offices in N America, Asia and Europe, as described in this article.
