As the global population continues to grow by around 80M people per year, with no slowdown of growth in sight, the demand for energy grows alongside it. Asia's governments and energy providers have recognised that they would not be able to meet the ever growing demands of individuals and businesses by investing solely in renewable energy sources right now, so instead are opting for more burning of fossil fuels. They have already plundered the stocks of surplus gas and coal that were saved for export and are importing more and more coal, gas and oil to support booming economies. Which begs the question: How are they going to meet with the ever increasing energy needs of Asia's households and businesses? This article looks for an answer.
