Energy Chain System For Circular Motion

German company Igus GmbH, of Cologne, specialises in machine parts made of high-tech polymers and has introduced TwisterChain E, an energy chain system for circular motion application which requires only one bend of the sidebars. The firm says that a wide range of widths, radii and circumferences which previously were impossible to achieve are now available to the user. It also says it has improved on stability, so that the system can reach up to 540 degrees and a speed of 8m/s. For motions above 220 degrees, a guiding system is necessary.
