Emhart Glass has demonstrated its technological leadership by introducing its revolutionary NIS all servo-electric forming machine, and has packaged this new technology with a full array of new turnkey support services. As a function of its standard NIS offering, Ehmart takes responsibility of the customer's machine project from initial planning to operation. The aim is to achieve a pre-established pack-to-melt productivity result. And the idea has already been piloted successfully in a partnership with Rexam Glass. Rexam decided to buy the new NIS machine in 2000. A project team was then formed with engineers from Rexam and Emhart under the leadership of Emhart service engineer Terry Copsey. The team developed a detailed project plan outlining the step-by-step process for the removal of Rexam's existing IS machine and its replacement by an Emhart Glass NIS.
