Emhart Glass Acquired By Bucher Holding

The Swiss operation Emhart Glass SA recently reported that Bucher Holding AG, a company active in the machine and vehicle construction sector, has acquired the Emhart Glass Group from the Black & Decker Corporation of the US. The take-over of Emhart Glass SA was planned to take place on 21 Sept 1998. On 18 Sept 1998, Emhart was renamed Emhart AG. On 21 Sept, Emhart AG sold the majority of its assets and liabilities in accordance with the Swiss Code of Obligations 181 to a new company, New Emhart Glass SA. The name of the new company was then changed to Emhart Glass SA. Emhart Glass SA said it will continue to operate as a new legal entity and assume all claims, rights and obligations towards its clients. (whole item)
