Elizovo Rebuilds For Growth

Elizovo Glassworks in Belarus has installed a 210/tpd furnace and is rebuilding its number one production shop to increase output. A second stage of development is planned to increase output to 400M bottles/year, making the factory one of the biggest makers of glass containers in the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS). The company also aims to gain ISO 9001 quality certification. The firm was set up in 1997 by Consumers Glass of Canada; Lada/OMC, a private Belarussian company; and Oktybr Glass, another glass container maker in Belarus, and was the first stand-alone private sector industrial project in the nation.
