Dressing Up Glass Packaging: Labelling, Surface Treatments & New Techniques Add Sparkle

Although glass packaging offers a premium brand image to products, this image can be further upgraded through the imaginative use of printed labels on glass bottles, jars and containers. Typical of the labels which can be used to decorate glass packaging are pressure sensitive labels, full body shrink labels and heat transfer labels. Each type offers different appearances and effects. The emergence of ultra clear films and associated printing techniques have made no look labels popular for bottle labelling. The range of surface treatments available for the decoration of glass packaging include embossing, acid etching for the frosted effect and colour coating.
