A surge in spirit sales is behind Diageo’s decision to raise investment into its gin brands. The drinks group owns Gordon’s and Tanqueray and has launched flavoured gin Gordon’s Crisp Cucumber, which is supported by a £1m marketing campaign. Gin sales in pubs, bars and restaurants have risen by 12%, according to research group Nielsen.
