Pilkington Profilit earned a design award at India's ACETECH 2011 construction trade fair in Mumbai in November 2011. It was Building Products India's first appearance at hte exhibition, which is the country's biggest construction industry event. "It was a very worthwhile event for us," said Pinaki Banerjee, MD BP India. "India's construction industry is growing fast and this was a perfect opportunity to showcase our products. The response was very positive. "Pilkington Profilit was competing against 100 other entrants for the award and its success illustrates that well-established products can still offer something fresh to the customer." The Profilit display included several examples from the range including the low-iron Pilkington Profilit OW, Pilkington Profilit Opal, Pilkington Profilit Wave, Pilkington Profilit Slim Line and Pilkington Profilit Macro Opal OW. BP India has since received its first ever order for a full container stock-load of the profiled glass.
