Demand For Glass Baby Bottles Surges On Concerns Over Bpa In Plastics

The GPI reports an upsurge in industry production to meet the growing demand for glass baby bottles after Health Canada recently declared bisphenol A, a chemical found in thousands of everyday products such as baby bottles & hard plastic food/beverage containers, "toxic." Members of the US Congress & some state legislatures have begun hearings on bills to ban BPA from products intended for children. O-I has resumed production of glass baby bottles after 20 years in Charlotte, MI. K Stevens, VP of sales/marketing said: "Though our glass nurser is not yet on the market, we've already received positive reactions to the bottle from several large customers & retail outlets." Not only is glass impermeable & non-porous, it is 100% recyclable, cradle-to-cradle packaging, meaning it can be recycled infinitely into new glass containers, equally as good as the original.
