Danone To Sell Bsn Stake

Danone is to sell its majority stake in BSN Emballage to CVC Capital Partners of the UK. The deal values the business at FFr7.6bn. At the same time, however, the French group is buying six glass packaging plants from Gerresheimer of Germany. These plants will be combined in a new business which will be majority owned by CVC, with Danone retaining a 44% share. The combined company will have 20 plants in France, Spain, Germany and The Netherlands. (whole item)
