Sales of Czech glass and ceramics producers grow by 8.1% in 2014 with direct exports contributing three quarters of the figure, according to data released by the Association of the Glass & Ceramic Industry. Flat glass had the highest share (17.34BN K) with sales from the AGC group contributing most of that volume. The Association said: "Development in the flat glass sector in the coming years will be influneced by the situation in construction in Central Europe and production of the automotive industry." Sales of ceramics produces rose also to 4.56BN K with 73% of that coming from technical and sanitary ceramics goods. The positive results were also reflected in employment. At the end of 2014 22,208 people worked in the sector, 4.7% more than the previous year. 18,532 worked in glass production and the rest in the ceramics sector. Average wages remained unchanged at 25,383K/month.
