Cullet Collected In Germany

In 2003, approximately 2.29m/tonnes of cullet were collected nationwide from private households, mainly separated according to colour: 49% clear; 30% green and 12% brown. Coloured cullet remains unchanged at 7% and mixed cullet accounts for 4% of the quantity collected. The proportion used by glass manufacturers was 51.35% clear glass; 46.76% brown glass and 73.96% green. Once again, 56% of production in the German glass industry was clear glass, followed by 25% green and 19% brown.
