Royal Brierley Crystal has recently been commissioned to produce a collection of wine glasses to be called Revival, for Japanese retailer Diamaru. The launch coincided with Japan's British Festival '98. The Revival range has been commissioned in response to the growing appreciation of wine in Japan and it has been designed using traditional skills, patterns, and moulds from Royal Brierley's archives. Intaglio cutting is the primary technique used on the Revival collection. This involves the intricate process of engraving crystal with a diamond wheel to produce a smooth cut that is easily polished.
