Demand for fibre in China surged to 19.3M/km in Q2, 2010. The latest inputs from industry participants as well as data from secondary sources, have led to increasing assessments of China's first half 2011 demand to 34.8M/km. A 56% increase over the first half 2008. By all accounts, the boom in China's fibre market is exceeding expectations and is requiring worldwide fibre producers to run at peak capacity.
