This article features an overview of Diageo's flagship liqueur site in Mallusk, Belfast. Baileys Irish Cream is such an iconic product it has that aura of having been around forever, yet its history is less than 50y old. The ground-breaking idea to create a fusion of Irish Cream and Irish whiskey had been in existence well before that, but it took the application ad persistence of a dedicated team of innovators at the then Gilbey's of Ireland to enable the launch of a stable product in 1974.
