Cost Performance Modelling

Each station along the glass line has the potential to increase profitability by using a value/performance model that calculates possible savings or indicates increased costs related to ware handling materials. Such a model can aid the decision-making process as selection is based on conditions on the line. This model also calculates projected increases or decreases in costs caused by the machine downtime for changing inserts, based on the wear factors of specific materials. The area that is most impacted by ware handling materials is where the newly formed bottle is removed from the mould. There are many variables to consider when selecting holders and inserts for the production glass line. Precision inserts should be used with precision holders to achieve optimum cost reductions.
