Cornwall Glass & Glazing Opens Toughened Glass Plant

Cornwall Glass & Glazing has opened a £2M, state-of-the-art glass toughening plant at St Austell. 10 jobs have been created on the new line with more in prospect. The decision to build the 1580 sq m plant adjacent to the firm's existing factory was taken in 2002 after a number of changes to UK building regulations led to a large increase in demand for toughened glass. After experiencing problems in sourcing from UK suppliers, the firm decided to take control of matters by manufacturing toughened glass itself.
