Cookson Matthey Ceramics - Increased Profits In Fiscal 1995-6

Cookson Matthey Ceramics Plc., the joint venture between Johnson Matthey and the Cookson Group, has reported increased profit for the fiscal year 1995-6. Johnson Matthey's share of operating profits rose to £23.8m, up 54%. Cookson Matthey Ceramics is organized into two global divisions: Ceramic and Materials. During fiscal 1995-6 the Ceramic division was restructured into four global businesses: Decorative Ceramics, Pring, Tile and Decorative Precious Metals. New decorative precious metal products are being developed for the Asia Pacific region to meet demand in the rapidly expanding tableware and glass industries.
