Conveyor System Up And Running At Lax & Shaw

Lax & Shaw has installed a state-of-the-art conveyor system. Taking only 18 weeks to complete, the system transports pallets automatically from the cold end inspection area onto waiting transport. Jointly devised by Lax & Shaw's Tony Pawinski and Stuart Williams of Intech, the system employs a series of powered rollers and chain conveyors to ensure smooth transportation, reducing the risk of breakages and improving the overall aesthetics of each pallet. Run via a powerful communications system, the conveyor also has the ability to access various data such as total pallets produced per shift and diagnostic data to aid maintenance. Tony Pawinski described the conveyor as an innovative piece of equipment that has already proved to be a valuable addition at the cold end. The project is one of many which are ongoing at Lax & Shaw's cold end. (whole item)
