Construction Products Regulation

As of 1 July 2013, a corresponding Declaration of Performance must be provided when construction products are sold, guaranteeing product specific properties, such as: U-value, or light transmission of insulating glass. Supporting documents for the Declaration of Performance and EC certification must be kept for 10 years. In order to comply with the Construction Products Regulation, it is important to provide thorough documentation covering the raw materials used, as well as the relevant manufacturing steps on which the guarantee of the product characteristics are based. In the case of an insulating glass manufacturer, this means that all materials, glass, spacer frames, molecular sieves etc, must be thoroughly documented as soon as the goods are received. On top of this, a company must be able to prove that the materials necessary for the characteristics of every product have actually been used.
