Colouring Forehearth

Allied Glass Containers factory at Knottingley has commissioned a new colouring forehearth supplied by Zedtec, a member of the TECO Group. The forehearth can produce 45 tonnes of coloured glass a day in a wide range of standard and bespoke shades, and allows Allied the flexibility to produce both coloured and clear glass simultaneously from the same furnace. Colour is weighed, fed and mixed in the forehearth to allow rapid colour changes to provide the flexibility that cannot be provided by a colour glass tank.
