Cobra Goes For International Strike

Innovative brewer, Cobra Beer, says it has raised £27.5M to fund its ambitious expansion programme as it seeks to grow in the UK and India, as well as developing South African export activity. Specifically, Cobra aims to expand draught capacity in the UK and to raise financing for marketing and distribution in the UK and India, while additional funding will be directed to international markets. The company has plans for further capacity in north, east and south India. In the UK, Cobra also sees further potential for penetration of the 5000 supermarkets and off-licences in which it is currently stocked, including Tesco, Sainsbury, Waitrose, Somerfield, Morrisons and Asda. "In the most competitive beer market in the world, Britain, our entrepreneurial spirit, with its distinctive glass packaging, has driven us to achieve against all odds." said a spokesman.
