Coating Protects Sensitive Contents

Adelphi Tubes has begun production of vials for extremely sensitive pharmaceutical and diagnostic preparations using Type I Plus glass developed by Schott. The internal surface of the vials is coated with high purity SiO2. The inert coating preserves some difficult formulations including those with extreme pH sensitivity, high pH on aggressive buffer systems, compounds which show adverse reactions to specific ions in the glass, complexing agents such as EDTA or citrates and where there is a tendency to adsorb to oridinary glass surfaces.
