Climate Change And Emissions To Air: Uk Climate Change Report

On 9 March 2006, Defra submitted its climate change report on demonstrable progress to the European Commission and to the United National Framework Convention on Climate Change, meeting its obligation under the Kyoto Protocol. The report shows that UK greenhouse gas emissions were 14.6% below base year levels in 2004 and are projected to be around 19.4% below base year levels in 2010. Under the Kyoto Protocol, the UK agreed to ensure that emissions of greenhouse gases were at least 12.5% lower than base year levels. The report covers domestic policies and measures, greenhouse gas emission trends and projects, use of Kyoto Mechanisms and progress on other commitments.
