China's push to gain an edge on green technologies moved up a gear recently when a deal was struck with USA-based First Solar Inc to build the world's largest solar power plant in Inner Mongolia. The second significant development that preceded this was China's plans to reverse the reputation of one of its most polluted cities by investing US3,515M into establishing a global photovoltaic production hub at Xingtai, Hebei Province. The green revolution quietly continues in China as significant solar cell developments has quartz, silicon carbide and fused silica producers on alert.
