Chemical Reaction Of Platinum With Pbo-Si02 Melt Under Direct Current Electrolysis

Platinum electrodes were immersed in lead silicate glasses of (100-x) Pb0.xSi02 (mol%, x=0-50) melts and dc voltage was applied to keep a constant current, 6mA, at 900 deg C. After electrolysis the interfaces between Pt electrodes and the melt were analysed by electron probe microanalysis and x-ray diffraction analysis.
