Chapman Adds New Style Lightweight Bottle

Bottle merchant Chapman's has announced the addition of a new-style lightweighted half-litre bottle to its range, aimed at the burgeoning independent and micro breweries sector. After a bottle a 400g bottle manufactured by one of its competitors was recently withdrawn from use by its maker, Chapman's has worked closely with bottle manufacturer O-I to devise a replacement, which weighs just 330g. Chapman's sales manager James Reekes said: "What we have done with O-I is to ensure that the dimensions of our competitor's 400g bottle, which was a great favourite with brewers, have been retained at the lowest practical weight." Chapman's brewery clients, which include Rhymney Brewery, Inveralmond, Little Valley Brewery and Glastonbury Ales, will have their beers bottled in the new format.
