Carlsberg Kicks Off With Its Special Ones

Carlsberg is moving into speciality beers, with the launch of a blond and a white beer in 75cl glass bottles. Saaz Blonde and Bramley Wit are part of Carlsberg's speciality Jacobsen range, which was launched in Denmark last year, and are brewed in Carlsberg's original brewery. Saaz Blonde, at 7.1% abv, is top-fermented & brewed to give an aroma of cloves, coriander, angelica root & pine needles, with a blond head. Bramley Wit, at 4.6% abv, is brewed with juice from Bramley & belle de boskoop apples & fresh orange peel. It is white & slightly cloudy, with a creamy head. Carlsberg UK said the beers would go well with food, & has packaged them in larger bottles to encourage sharing with a meal.
