Carlsberg is cracking down on its carbon footprint with a push to achieving zero emissions from its breweries by 2030. The Danish beer giant recently kicked off sustainability programme "Together Towards Zero" developed with leading global experts and aligned with the UN's sustainable development goals. The emissions targets "go beyond the base level of ambition set out in the Paris agreement", said Carlsberg, which plans to switch to exclusively renewable energy by 2022 in the interim. The brewer also aims to halve water usage at its facilities by 2030, as well as reducing workplace accidents and addressing the problem of irresponsible drinking.
