Carl Zeiss Results

German optical equipment manufacturer Carl Zeiss posted operating profits of DM 125m on turnover of DM 2.8bn in the first nine months of the current financial year ending 30 September 2000. Finance director Olaf Berlien forecast full-year operating profits of DM 155m on turnover of DM 3.6bn. Berlien predicted that Carl Zeiss would generate net profits of DM 77.5m in the current year. This compares with a loss of DM 100m in 1998/99. Berlien observed that virtually all divisions were now operating profitably.
