Calabash Almost Done

A major exercise by SAB is nearing completion. It will take Project Calabash 2 years, 3.2M man-hours and $150M to replace 330M of SAB's iconic 750ml quart bottles with 430M new "Calabash" quart bottles, for Castle Lager, Carling Black Label, Hansa Pilsener and Castle Milk Stout. Over 80% of SAB's beer solid is in returnable bottles, of which quartz make up the majority. Over 90,000/t glass will be recycled from sorting facilities set up at the 7 RSA breweries.
