Anheuser-Busch is planning to launched pint-size "gripper" bottles of its 4.1% abv Bud Silver across the off-trade after a successful launch in some convenience stores & the on-trade. The brown bottles have four grooves in the back & aim to "create a point of difference from other bottled laters." Bud Silver is a lower-alcohol, "full-flavoured" stablemate to Budweiser. It was launched recently with a sampling campaign & radio ads. UK marketing director Jim Gorczyca said: "Bud Silver represents a big opportunity for Anheuser-Busch & we are supporting the brand both above & below the line. Feedback from customers has been very positive." Budweiser has launched an ad campaign celebrating its sponsorship of the FA Premier League. It has also launched a range of POS material including posters, outdoor banners & bunting, & is running competitions to win tickets to matches in the league.
