BTR Plc recently announced that folowing the Extraordinary General Meeting held on 25 March 1998, the resolution to approve the proposed divestment of the packaging business to Owens-Illinois Inc. was duly passed by shareholders. Subject to relevant regulatory approvals in the US, Australia and the EU, completion is expected at the end of April 1999.
