Brugal Rum Repackaged In Stylish Ardagh Bottle

The Edrington Group has repackaged its famous Brugal Rum brand in a stylish new bottle produced by Ardagh Group from a concept provided by Lewis Moberly in partnership with The Edrington Group, to make it more suitable for bottle manufacture and high speed bottling lines. The Ardagh design team retained all the features of the concept, which included designing a round bottle with a square body section, and installing an arched front eyebrow, which was to run parallel with the front label. At the same time they met the challenge of creating the lightest bottle in its class, keeping the range of sizes within the family and satisfying the technical requirements of the Blow- Blow bottle production process. Because the bottle is round, but part of the body is square, an “across corners” partline was used to achieve mould opening in production. This impacted on the positioning of the front eyebrow, which was re-designed to achieve design intent. Brugal is the world’s third largest rum producer, the leading rum brand in the Caribbean and Spain, and growing rapidly in other markets. The range comprises Brugal Carta Dorada rum and Brugal Blanco (White) rum, Brugal Añejo rum, a dark rum aged 5 years, Brugal Extra Viejo, aged 8 years, Brugal Siglo de Oro (Golden Age), aged 12 years, and Brugal Único, a 30 year rum which is specially designed for rum connoisseurs. Other rums include the “reserve” versions of the previously mentioned as well as special editions such as Brugal Titanium and Brugal 1888 rum. More info:www.ardaghgroup.com
