The UK-based distributor of PepsiCo, Britvic, reported Q1 sales of £243M. Britvic saw strong growth in its home market as well as abroad in the 12 weeks ending Dec 20. This good performance could offset the declining revenue in Ireland. Revenue in Britain was driven by a 20% increase in sales of Britvic's carbonated soft drinks, as sales of non-carbonated drinks rose by 9.6%. Further, Britvic said it was confident it could meet the projected full-year figures, saying in a statement: "Given the exceptionally strong performance during the comparative period in 2009, Q2 would be expected to see a relative slowing of the rate of growth."
